The inagural WildeRealm fest is behind us. The community we found is something we'll carry forever. And right now, we're choosing to take care of ourselves.
It Came Together
We've been sitting with this for a while now, trying to find the right words. And honestly? We're not sure there are enough of them.
The first WildeRealm happened. It actually happened.
Through the wind and the heat and the collapsed tents and the rain and the mud and the moments where we weren't sure we could hold it all together — it happened. And it was more than we dreamed it would be. Not because everything went perfectly. It didn't. But because the people who showed up chose to show up all the way. Every single time.
The vendors who shared their shade and their stories. The musicians who played through the heat of the hottest afternoon. The performers who stepped in without hesitation when someone couldn't make it. The volunteers who held tent poles in the wind and didn't let go. The guests who came out of their tents when the bagpipes roared and danced in the dark with children spinning in circles around them.
That's what the WildeRealm became. Not just an event. A community.
The Friends We Found
We didn't know, going in, how much this would change us.
We knew we were building something. We knew we believed in it. But you can't know, until you're standing in the middle of it, what it feels like to watch strangers become a Realm. To watch people who had never met find each other across a field in the San Luis Valley and decide, without a word, that they belonged there together.
We made friends this year. Real ones. The kind forged in chaos and heat and shared purpose. The kind you don't forget.
To every vendor, performer, musician, volunteer, and guest who was part of the first WildeRealm-Thank you. You are the Realm and the inspiration for us.
Taking Care of Ourselves
Here's the honest part.
Building something like this takes everything you have. And we gave it everything. We don't regret a single moment of it. But we also know ourselves well enough to know when we need to stop, breathe, and come back to who we are before we pour into anything else.
Mental health isn't a footnote. It's the foundation. And right now, ours needs tending.
So we're stepping back from social media for a while. Not forever. Not because anything is wrong. But because rest is part of the work too, and we've learned slowly, imperfectly, stubbornly, that you cannot build a Realm if you've burned yourself to the ground doing it.
We'll still be here. The shop is open. The next chapter is already taking shape in the quiet. But the feeds will be still for a bit, and that's okay. That's intentional. That's us choosing ourselves the way we hope you'll always choose yourselves too.
If you've ever felt the pull to log off, to rest, to let the noise go quiet for a season; we see you. We're right there with you.
Until We Return
The WildeRealm will return in September 2027. There is so much more to build, to dream, to share. We can't wait to do it with you.
But first rest. Gratitude. And the particular magic that only comes when you finally let yourself be still.
The Realm endures. And so do we.
