While completing a PhD in counseling psychology, he was hired and eventually became a professor of psychology and student development at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois. In his thirty-one years at Oakton, Greg studied and taught wellness, men’s psychology, topics in human services, and substance-abuse counseling. He also explored aspects of multicultural psychology and spirituality through the study of Incan shamanism and working with Andean medicine people in Peru. Greg is the father of three wonderful children who play an essential role in his story. He’s now humbled and fortunate to have three amazing grandchildren: Cybele, Stella, and Graham.
